Great Nat Park with little tourist traffic for some reason. High in all the big game (except bufalo) – lots of cats, elephants, zebras and herbivores. Cant understand why this park doesnt get the traffic the other major parks get. it really is fantastic. note that the bridge over the river is gone, so to get from Samburu Nat Park to Buffalo Springs you have to go out of the park, cross the river and go back in.
This was our first game reserve so we may have been a bit star-struck by the variety and quantity of wildlife but it really is a fabulous place. To be feet away from a jackal as it feeds on a zebra carcass, while it kept a beady eye on nearby lions, was such a privilege. One local speciality which we really wanted to see was the gerenuk, especially if we could watch it standing on its back legs to feed. We certainly got to see them in each of the three reserves around here and they really are wonderful.
The rest you will just enjoy.
