Travel Itinerary

Day 1

Kenya - Tanzania

The trip begins in Nairobi, Kenya and travels through Namanga Road to the Kenyan-Tanzanian border. After crossing into Tanzania, you'll visit Arusha, enjoy lunch and continue the journey through various landscapes, including valleys, plateaus and Dodoma. The first sleepover is in Iringa, Tanzania.

Day 2

Tanzania – Zambia

Leaving Iringa, you’ll drive through Mbeya and continue towards the Tanzanian-Zambian border at Tuduma-Nakonde. After crossing the border, the caravan will head to Mpika in Zambia for the second sleepover.

Day 3

Zambia

The journey proceeds through Kabwe, Lusaka (the capital of Zambia) and then further south to Kafue and Choma, where you’ll spend the night.

Day 4

Zambia – Botswana

The day starts with an inspiring visit to Victoria Falls (one of the 7 wonders of the world) on the Zambia-Zimbabwe border. After this experience, you’ll cross into Botswana at Kazungula and head to Francistown before reaching Gaborone for the fourth sleepover.

Day 5

Botswana – South Africa

You’ll cross the border into South Africa through Martin’s Drift and proceed to Johannesburg, through the Imperial administrative capital city Pretoria.

Day 6-9

South Africa

In Johannesburg, you’ll have a guided tour of various attractions, including museums, markets and the famous Maboneng Precinct. You’ll also have three days to explore and shop in the city.

Day 10

South Africa – Zimbabwe

Leaving Johannesburg, the journey takes you back to Zimbabwe through the Beitbridge border and you’ll spend the night in Bulawayo.

Day 11

Zimbabwe – Zambia

You’ll head to Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe and then cross into Zambia through the Chirundu border. The day ends with a sleepover in Lusaka, Zambia.

Day 12

Zambia

The journey continues north and west to Nakonde border and you’ll spend the night in Mpika.

Day 13

Zambia – Tanzania

You’ll leave Mpika, cross the border into Tanzania and spend the night in Mbeya (Here you can buy the best and the cheapest rice).

Day 14

Tanzania

The caravan will head to Dodoma, the administrative capital of Tanzania, where you’ll spend the night (Here you can buy the best and cheapest ground nuts/njugu karanga).

Day 15

Tanzania – Kenya

The final day takes you back to Nairobi, Kenya, concluding the epic road trip.

What documents are required for the trip?

You'll need a new-generation passport (valid for at least 6 months) and proof of a yellow fever vaccination. It's important to have all required travel documents ready before departure.

What meals are included in the package?

Breakfast is included daily and selected lunches or dinners will be provided. You'll also have free time to explore local cuisines on your own.

How much luggage can I bring?

Each traveler can bring one large suitcase and one carry-on. We advise packing light and only bringing essentials, as storage space on the bus is limited.

What currency is used in the countries we'll visit?

You’ll need to exchange money in each country or use credit cards (widely accepted in major cities). The local currencies are:

Is there an age restriction for this trip?

The trip is open to all ages, but we recommend that participants be in good health, as there are long stretches of driving. Families with children are welcome.

Tour Terms & Conditions

  1. Booking and Payment
    • A 50% deposit is required to secure your spot on the tour.
    • Full payment must be made at least 30 days prior to the departure date.
    • All payments are to be made via our website or through authorized bank transfers. No cash payments will be accepted.
  2. Cancellation Policy
    • Cancellations made 60 days before the departure date will receive a full refund.
    • Cancellations made between 30-59 days before the departure date will receive a 50% refund.
    • Cancellations made less than 30 days before departure are non-refundable.
  3. Passport and Visas
    • It is the responsibility of each traveler to ensure they have a valid passport (minimum 6 months validity) and the required visas for each country on the itinerary.
    • Visa costs are not included in the tour package and must be arranged prior to departure.
  4. Health Requirements
    • All participants must provide proof of a yellow fever vaccination and ensure they meet the health requirements for each country on the itinerary.
    • We recommend carrying any necessary prescription medication and ensuring comprehensive travel health insurance coverage.
  5. Luggage and Personal Belongings
    • Each traveler is allowed one large suitcase and one carry-on. We advise packing light, as space is limited on the bus.
    • The company is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged personal items during the trip.
  6. Itinerary Changes
    • The company reserves the right to make adjustments to the itinerary due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather conditions, political situations or road closures.
    • Any changes made will aim to provide an alternative of equal or better quality and participants will be notified as early as possible.
  7. Travel Insurance
    • Basic travel insurance is included in the tour package. However, travelers are strongly advised to purchase additional comprehensive travel insurance that covers health, cancellations and personal belongings.
  8. Conduct and Behavior
    • All participants are expected to behave respectfully toward other travelers, guides and local communities.
    • The company reserves the right to remove any individual from the tour without a refund if their behavior is disruptive or harmful.
  9. Liability
    • The company will not be held liable for any injury, loss or damage sustained during the tour. Participants are encouraged to follow safety instructions and exercise caution at all times.
  10. Force Majeure
  • The company will not be held liable for events beyond its control, including but not limited to natural disasters, political unrest or pandemics, which may cause changes or cancellations to the tour.

  • Any special dietary requirements, accommodation preferences or other specific requests must be communicated at the time of booking. While we will make every effort to accommodate, we cannot guarantee that all requests will be met.
